Dr. Martin O’Malley is an Orthopedic Surgeon at HSS specializing in sports medicine of the foot and ankle. He is Team Orthopedist for the Brooklyn Nets , USA Basketball, and the Foot and the Ankle Consultant to the New York Giants. He has operated on over 150 professional athletes and is a consultant to most NBA, WNBA, NFL teams. He was named by the NBA Trainers Association as Physician of the Year in 2022 for his work with multiple NBA teams and players (see 'in the news').
Dr. O’Malley is Professor of Clinical Orthopedic Surgery at Weil Cornell Medical College, has published over 100 peer reviewed articles, and lectures extensively. His practice also involves reconstructive surgery of the foot and ankle and he has been performing total ankle replacement surgery for over 25 years.
