The HSS-China Orthopaedic Education Exchange provides a unique opportunity for Chinese orthopaedic surgeons and trainees to gain valuable knowledge and experience through professional education programs. Structured observation programs at Hospital for Special Surgery, participation in educational programs through live video conferencing along with attendance at annual symposia held in China are several offerings of the Exchange. Qualified applicants from medical centers throughout China are encouraged to apply to the Junior Faculty Observation Program.

Step 1: All candidates must submit an online application with the following supporting documentation:
Step 2: Selected applicants will be interviewed prior to acceptance into the program.
Step 3: Upon complete review of the application, successful candidates will be extended an invitation into the program along with additional information for registration and health clearance.
The entire selection process takes approximately three months from date of submission. Program start dates for accepted candidates are based upon availability and may last from 2 weeks to 2 months depending on the service.
Please note that there is a $500 fee upon acceptance into the program.
Chinese orthopaedic surgeons interested in conducting research at HSS can apply for a 1-2 year research fellowship with HSS Faculty in a specific service. All applicants are responsible for contacting HSS faculty to inquire about research collaboration. Once an HSS host is identified, submit completed online applications at least 6 months ahead of the preferred start date.
