Michael Siroty

At the age of nine, Michael tore his meniscus and ACL while pitching in a baseball game. After a misdiagnosis from a local doctor, Michael went for a consult with Dr. Allen, who took him into surgery that day for his meniscus. Dr. Allen referred Michael to Dr. Green and Cordasco for ACL repair. A month later, Michael underwent a successful iliotibial band graft. After a yearlong recovery, Michael was able to return to his favorite sports - basketball and baseball, and he's back to pitching.

A chance meeting at HSS with an athlete who had also been treated by Dr. Cordasco led to an e-mail friendship, and Michael and his family were inspired to create JAMSPals.org, a nonprofit organization connecting kids who have undergone surgical treatment for sports injuries with professional and college athletes.
