Dr. Strickland was my last hope for an injury that started back in 2015 and kept reoccurring despite surgical and physical therapy interventions. I had torn my right ACL twice and lived with constant instability and pain. Before my appointment, I had x-rays taken, and by the time I was seated in the examination room, Dr. Strickland already had an idea of what was occurring to me. Due to the issue's complexity, Dr. Strickland collaborated with Dr. Gomoll; I was born with a misshaped tibia, which was why I kept experiencing injury to my right ACL.

On December 23, 2019, I had my fourth knee surgery to correct the bone abnormality and, once again, my ACL. If it were not for this surgery and the following surgery to remove the hardware nine months later, I would never be able to accomplish half the things I have. One of my biggest fears about having this invasive procedure was not being able to continue my education in nursing school. Dr. Strickland and Dr. Gomoll reassured me and promised that this surgery would help me and not hold me back any more than my injuries already did. Today, I work in Emergency Medicine as a Registered Nurse, accomplishing things I never dreamed of for myself.

While still trying to accept the minor everyday neuropathic (nerve) pain I live with, I have a constant reminder of the trauma I endured over five years of surgeries, along with all the things I got back when Dr. Strickland and Dr. Gomoll entered my life. I will forever be grateful for both of them and their promise to help me.
