I had a traumatic ankle injury at age 30, which ended a career in dancing. I have always been very active with hiking, skiing, and horseback riding, but pain in my ankle was becoming debilitating. I had been receiving steroid injections for years, but they were no longer working. I made an appointment with Dr. D., and it was the best thing I had ever done. He answered all my questions and explained what an ankle replacement would involve regarding the actual surgery and recovery. I was so well taken care of by everyone in his office and at HSS during my surgery and recovery. I would recommend everyone to go to HSS. Dr. D. changed my life. I am now able to ski, walk, and ride my horse without ankle pain. I will be forever grateful to him and his staff.
