I am a lifelong dancer and professional choreographer/teacher. In June 2016 I injured my meniscus in a dance show, and it took me 6 months to realize that I could not heal myself on my own and needed more intense intervention. When I finally got an MRI, I realized that my ACL had been torn for years. I had no ligament anymore, just scar tissue. On top of that, my meniscus on the same knee was partially torn and disintegrated. From intake to surgery took only 4 weeks, and 3 months after my recovery I was back to walking normally. Thanks to my surgeon Dr. Nawabi and my incredible physical therapist Snay Patel, I am back to working and teaching, and my knee is stronger than it's ever been.
