On 4/1/2015, I stepped into a sinkhole and ripped my patella and quadriceps from my knee. I had a 360% tear. Dr Maynard sent me through a battery of test at HSS to pinpoint the problem. He performed an excellent surgery on 4/6/2015. He had a custom brace designed for my leg. This surgery usually requires weight not be placed on the repaired leg for 12-14 weeks. Dr. Maynard's surgery and custom brace allowed me to walk on the surgically repaired leg the 1st day after surgery. It is now 5/5/2015 and I have been able to walk on my leg for long distances everyday. I am also able to drive without any problem. Dr. Maynard saved my leg and I highly recommend him. He is the very best surgeon you could ever choose.
