I tore my meniscus in 2010 and and couldn't walk. I wasn't satisfied with a prior hospital's opinion, so I came to HSS for a second one. I was diagnosed right away and received the proper treatment needed to correct the situation. I had an arthroscopy in 2011, but a year later, I had to have patella femoral replacement. The surgery was a success and my knee was better than ever! It has been 3 years since I had a partial knee replacement. I have not experienced any pain since the recovery period, I have full flex abilities and have not taken any medication for pain of the knee since surgery in 2012. I would like to thank Dr. Strickland for the FABULOUS job she did on my knee because I have fallen on it numerous times since surgery because of my clumsiness (with the most recent fall on 4/17/15) and it has not fractured, I still don't require medication for pain because I have none (just ice for swelling), and the hardware has still held up. Choosing this hospital was the best decision I made and it will be the only one I choose for any orthopedic surgery I may have to get in the future.
