In the middle of my Senior year of high school I broke my ankle suddenly in an accident on the subway. Being mobile and active is my life and I was terrified I was going to lose that part of myself. Beyond that, I was terrified that I would not be able to dance at prom or walk at graduation. After my first surgery with Dr. Levine, only three months after the accident, I was walking around again and back at school. I got to go to prom and walk at graduation. Since my first surgery, I have trekked to Machu Picchu and climbed mountains in the US, Peru, and Spain. Dr. Levine exceeded my expectations in the range my ankle had! I then decided to go back for a second surgery to gain even more of my old physical capabilities back. It's only been three months and I can not believe how normal and amazing I feel. Two years ago I feared losing my physicality but now, thanks to Dr. Levine, I'm kickboxing, training for a half marathon, and planning numerous hikes and treks. I can not thank the staff at HSS enough!
