About Dr. Westrich
Dr. Geoffrey Westrich is one of the nation’s leading specialists in advanced hip and knee replacement, helping patients return to active, pain-free lives through modern surgical techniques and personalized care.
With more than 30 years in practice and approximately 15,000 hip and knee procedures performed, Dr. Westrich brings exceptional experience and expertise to every patient he treats.
A senior orthopedic surgeon at the Hospital for Special Surgery, Dr. Westrich focuses on robotic-assisted joint replacement, minimally invasive hip and knee surgery, and complex revision procedures. Each year he performs approximately 500 hip and knee replacements, using the latest technologies designed to improve precision, recovery time, and long-term outcomes.
He also performs CT-based robotic hip and knee replacement using the Mako Robotic-Arm Assisted Surgery System, an advanced technology that uses a preoperative CT scan to create a 3D model of the joint. This allows for highly precise surgical planning and implant positioning tailored to each patient’s anatomy.
For many patients, joint pain interferes with work, exercise, and everyday life. Dr. Westrich works closely with each patient to determine the most effective treatment—whether that means non-surgical care, partial joint replacement, or a highly advanced robotic-assisted procedure designed to restore mobility and durability.
