I was a dancer and a dance teacher and I was having a lot of pain in my legs. I was recommended to HSS and found Dr. McLawhorn. He told me I had osteoarthritis in both hips, so honestly I was relieved after many years of physical therapy that there was an actual answer to my pain.

I had 2 hip replacements that were 6 months apart in 2022. It was the best experience of recovering my life again. Of course, I listened to the doctor and didn’t risk doing anything that might impede my full recovery. The month of June is 2 years since my second hip was done and I’ve been teaching Adult Ballet and fully demonstrating everything for at least a year and I’m back fully in ballet class, jumping, turning, and stretching.

We just got back from a trip to Asia where we did heavy duty hiking. I am stronger now than I was several years ago. I wake up everyday and am grateful to Dr. McLawhorn and the awesome team at HSS Orthopedics with Stamford Health.
