My name is Katelyn Vinci and I had periacetabular osteotomy (PAO) on April 28th with Dr. Ernest Sink. During the pandemic, I started to run 2 miles every day and eventually started to get pain in my hip. I was diagnosed with mild hip dysplasia and was told PAO surgery was my best option. Dr. Sink was so kind and always comforted me when he knew I was extremely nervous. He just always was so positive and it made me feel so much better. The surgery went very well and I am living such a better life. At 4 weeks post-op, I graduated with my Masters in Social Work at New York University and I was able to do it pain-free. I am currently 7 weeks post-op and I am doing amazing! I just got a job as a social worker and am on my feet every day 9-5 without any pain. I have a better range of motion now than I did before surgery and that says a lot because I was a cheerleader for 15 years. I can't thank Dr. Sink and his team enough for being so supportive and helping me every step of the way. I appreciate you Dr. Sink every day and hope all the patients reading this story get the chance to meet with Dr. Sink and his nurse Katrina Della Torre.
