As an exceptionally active 72 year old man, I attempted ignoring the pain coming from my hip for over a year. I couldn’t imagine recovering from a surgery and being unable to play the sports I love and engage in my daily activities the way I’m used to. I put the hip replacement I so badly needed off until the pain was so agonizing that it could no longer be ignored.

Boy, do I wish I had my surgery done sooner! My surgeon at HSS along with the therapists thereafter got me right back on my feet. I walked out of the hospital the day of my surgery and began physical therapy the very next day. I am now eight weeks post-op and not only am I back on the racquetball court, but I feel better than I have felt in years.

I truly feel younger, stronger and ready to up my game. Thank you to everyone at HSS for making the process such a positive one for me. I am forever indebted to you and the entire staff; you cared for me like family. Thank you for getting me BACK IN THE GAME!
