After having several surgeries for my broken leg and developing a severe infection, my wife and I starting seeking other opinions. The first two hospitals told us they had no choice but to amputate my leg below the knee. Then we decided to get one more opinion at HSS. Dr. Wellman looked at our records and told us he could save my leg. Being pretty skeptical my wife asked what made him different from the other hospitals. Dr. Wellman simply said, "This is what we do, I can save his leg" - and he absolutely did!! He put an awesome team together and they did everything they could to save my leg. I am now back to work full time and have my life back thanks to Dr. Wellman, Dr. Fufa and Dr. Miller. I will be eternally grateful to these wonderful people!
