Broken Leg (Leg Fracture)

I was involved in a head-on collision 32 years ago in Newburgh NY and sustained multiple fractures of right leg and ankle. My right heel was also crushed. Three hospitals would not attempt to repair and suggested amputation. With many operations, Dr. Helfet saved my leg (I was here for 2 1/2 months). When I realized it was a hardware issue, we contacted Dr. Helfet. He agreed to perform an operation. My wife Margie and I are very grateful for the care and expertise of Dr. Helfet, HSS, and their awesome staff.
