I had a shoulder surgery at HSS and the care I received was incredible. The surgeon did a great job, and also, just as importantly, the nursing staff that cared for me during my overnight stay was amazing. Amy was the daytime nurse, and Ryan was the nighttime nurse who came by the room every hour or so, and whenever I clicked that little button. Those two nurses were incredible. Ryan was extremely patient dealing with me all night (I came out of surgery at around 9PM). I do not know where he got all that patience from, particularly given the fact that it was literally all night. At around 7 am, he handed it over to Amy, who had an amazing sense of humor, extremely upbeat attitude, and was very responsive to every need that I had as I recovered. She was able to provide recommendations and good information for the people who showed up to care for me. I just want the two of them to get this message. Their care did not go unnoticed, and because of literally those two people more than anyone else at HSS I will recommend the hospital to anyone who asks.
