Dr. Stephen Massimi is a board certified physiatrist who is fellowship trained in Interventional Spine and Sports Medicine. He specializes in the nonsurgical treatment of spine, hip, and general musculoskeletal conditions.

After receiving his undergraduate degree from Boston College where he graduated with honors, Dr. Massimi earned his medical degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. He then completed his residency at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, affiliated with Columbia University and Weill Cornell Medical College, where he served as chief resident. He then went on to complete a fellowship at Hospital for Special Surgery in Interventional Spine and Sports Medicine. Dr. Massimi is board certified in both Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and in Sports Medicine.

Dr. Massimi is an active member of several professional organizations including the Spine Intervention Society, and he is a Fellow of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He has authored multiple book chapters and scientific articles in his specialty.

Dr. Massimi has subspecialty training in the use of minimally invasive procedures performed under fluoroscopic and ultrasound guidance, including special procedures for the spine as well as the hip, knee, and shoulder areas. These include epidural and facet joint injections, radiofrequency ablation, and intradiscal procedures for the spine, as well as corticosteroid, platelet-rich-plasma (PRP), and viscosupplementation injections for joint disorders.
