In the past, I have been very active hiking, golfing, swimming, biking, gardening and teaching aerobic classes. I always had flat feet, but they were rarely a problem until my early sixties. When the pain in my left foot became unbearable and I could not walk, I saw Dr. Deland at HSS. He recommended and performed a mid-foot fusion surgery to eliminate the pain. His team thought I needed a rheumatologist and he recommended Dr. Magid for autoimmune, connective tissue disease and arthritis. I have been under Dr. Magid's care since 2012 and thanks to his expertise and medication, my illness is under control. I have had four operations at HSS including 3 foot surgeries and one knee replacement. The hospital provides the best care with professional staff in every department. Thanks to doctors like Dr. Cornell, Dr. Demetracopolous and Dr. Magid, I am able to keep up with my 7 grandkids and enjoy hikes in the woods with my husband and dog Annie. I'm Back in the Game and grateful.
