The HSS Academic Visitors Program provided me with a great opportunity to gain a better understanding of physical therapy practice before starting PT school. During my time at HSS, I was able to visit multiple locations, including the West Side, Belaire, Main Campus, and Midtown, where I had the opportunity to observe and network with physical therapists, exercise physiologists, and occupational therapists. I was able to observe return-to-sport testing, hand splint molding and fabrication, patient evaluations and treatments, and exercise programming. I am extremely grateful for the opportunity and left the program even more excited to begin PT school and pursue a career in physical therapy.
