Patient Story of: Debbie Hirsch

One year ago, I suffered a trimalleolar fracture and required surgery. Unfortunately, the injury occurred while I was in Italy, and I had to travel back to New York City for consultation and treatment. After a long and difficult flight home, I met Dr. Behrens, Meaghan, and his medical team within a day.

I was extremely anxious and unsure about what to expect. This was my first surgery, and my imagination ran wild with worry. Dr. Behrens acted quickly, and I underwent surgery the very next day. The procedure was a success, and I felt an overwhelming sense of relief and gratitude. During my hospital stay, the house staff and nurses were attentive, supportive, and caring every step of the way.

After I was discharged, I remained in close contact with Dr. Behrens and Meaghan, who consistently answered all of my questions and provided guidance throughout my recovery.

I feel incredibly fortunate that my first surgical experience was with Dr. Behrens. He is one of the most caring, competent, compassionate, and talented surgeons you could ever encounter.
