I started feeling some right groin pain while I was playing tennis and thought I might need a steroid shot. I went to my sports orthopedist, who took x-rays and an MRI and delivered the news that I was bone-on-bone and needed a total hip replacement. Dr. Gausden came highly recommended and I am so glad I found her. We scheduled my hip replacement and I did my strengthening exercises before the surgery. On the day of surgery, everyone at HSS was amazingly kind and efficient. I was truly surprised that they had me up and walking right after surgery!

Three months later I was not only healed and pain-free, but back on the tennis court and hiking again. I couldn’t have done it without Dr. Gausden, her amazing team that answered every question almost immediately and Hector Lozada, my expert physical therapist at HSS Midtown.
