My first experience was in 2008/09 when I had a bilateral hip replacement performed by Dr. Mathias Bostrom. The surgery was performed in Dec 2008 and January 2009 and by May of 2009 I was back in Central Asia traveling the silk road on my planned continuation. I started this in 2006 in Pakistan and Afghanistan etc. Everything went well. So when my shoulder gave out on me I went back to HSS and hooked up with Dr. Sam Taylor who fixed me up with a new shoulder in June of 2016 and I am getting ready now for my next swim with the whales which I have done for several years now in addition to my regular job of inspecting and branding horses. So the photos I am sharing are from my inspection/branding of horses from this past September and the swim with whales from March 2016. This February I am off to swim with the whales in the Silver Banks and I am confident that my shoulder will keep me safe and I can move around in the water just fine. I have practiced for a while now and it's all systems go thanks to Dr. Taylor.
