Ted Davis

I hit a tree skiing in Colorado and suffered massive injuries to my right leg including breaking the femur, tibia, fibula and a level 6 Tibia Plateau Fracture. I was airlifted to Denver and placed in the ICU due to the extent of my injuries. After my femur was stabilized , I was flown to HSS  on a medical hospital jet and placed under the care of Dr. Helfet. Dr. Helfet, in multiple operations, rebuilt my right knee and my broken leg over the next 2 1/2 weeks. Upon my release from HSS I began physical therapy to rebuild my leg and regain my strength. 8 months after my accident I was able to ride a bicycle up the mountains on a 12.5 mile climb on a 30 mile ride.
