I had an left anterior hip replacement, bikini incision in March, 2014. Dr. Su did my surgery and encouraged me to get back to being the athlete that I had been (minus distance running). Prior to my hip replacement I had gotten to the point of constantly limping and having difficulty walking even with crutches. My recovery was incredibly fast-walking right away, swimming laps after two weeks, using a spinning bike and climbing stairs. I was pain free immediately and my limp disappeared. A year and a half later I have a barely visible hairline scar that is literally on my bikini tan line and just got back from a week of hiking on uneven, unmarked trails on Easter Island, Chile.
