During filming of Survivor 50 in Fiji, I suffered a complete rupture of my Achilles tendon during a challenge. The challenge required me to run up a ramp covered in mud, which I had previously done, but slid back down to lift a teammate up. While running up the ramp a third time, I pushed off my right foot to accelerate, but I felt a sudden pop and immediately knew that something was wrong. I was medevacked from Fiji and back to New York, where I then went to Dr. Behrens and his team.

Dr. Behrens did a complete repair, and it was one of the best medical experiences I've ever had. My physical therapist and massage therapist both comment frequently that this is one of the best scars they have ever seen for an Achilles injury. I am eight and a half months into rehab, and I plan to run the New York City Marathon this fall. I'm so grateful for Dr. Behrens and his team.
