I suffered immense pain, nausea, and chronic muscle spasms following soft tissue damage in 2017. Despite seeing multiple orthopedic specialists, neurologists, pain specialists, and physical therapists, I was left without diagnosis, hope, or relief. I abandoned my career, social life, and hobbies.

In October 2023, I met Dr. Steve Lee and resident Dr. Samuel Boas. With unparalleled care, world-class innovation, and the focus of a competent team that included specialist Dr. Phillip Colucci, I finally received a diagnosis: dorsal scapular nerve entrapment. By November, Dr. Stephen Haskins joined the care team as my anesthesiologist, and Dr. Lee successfully released the scar tissue strangling my nerve - and my life!

I’m now celebrating two years of nearly pain-free existence. I’m back to work as a veterinarian, dancing ballroom, and smiling! These physicians, along with the phenomenal supporting medical staff at HSS, deserve to be commended, appreciated, and supported for their exceptional work.
