In mid-May 2024 my left hip was causing me extreme pain as a result of my scoliosis. After trying physical therapy, I made an appointment with Dr. McLawhorn in mid-June. After reviewing my x-rays, he said my next step would be a hip replacement. He scheduled my surgery for mid-July. I can’t even tell you how wonderful Dr. McLawhorn and his team are. Everything went super smoothly at HSS from the pre-op to the post-op to the recovery. I was walking with no issues by the 3rd week. But I was also having issues with my right hip. I went to see Dr. McLawhorn in mid-September and he said I should do the right hip replacement. So 14 weeks after the 1st hip replacement, I had the 2nd hip replaced. It is now 7 months after the 2nd hip replacement and just over 9 months after the 1st hip replacement and I feel great! In fact, last Winter, I took part in the NYRR Frosty 5K (which I walked- 2nd from right in picture)! I can’t thank Dr. McLawhorn enough for helping get my pain-free life back! Thank you!
