In late 2019 during water polo practice I received multiple blows to the head resulting in a concussion. I received treatment from multiple neurologists and physical therapists in California but had not fully recovered until I came to HSS and my concussion care was treated by Dr. Emami and Hannah Solomon. Even in 2024, I was still in recovery. I tried to move on with life but my symptoms resurged and left me unable to drive, work, and even walk at times.

I travelled across the country from California to New York in order to meet with Dr. Emami and Hannah. They are EXPERTS and exactly the people I needed to see to recover. Under my care at HSS I was met with genuine kindness and understanding, and a thorough evaluation leading to a clear care plan for a full recovery. I felt seen and understood.

While I no longer play water polo, I can actually enjoy my life now. Besides improvement in my physical health, my care plan helped me build confidence in my daily life. Dr. Emami and Hannah encouraged me to stay in school and after just under a year of treatment at HSS I will be transferring from Community College to a 4 year university this fall - something that was not even a part of my life plan after I got injured in 2019.
