A few years ago, my now soon to be 97 year-old mother had a hip replacement performed by Dr. McLawhorn at HSS. When it was time for me to undergo the same surgery, I knew it had to be done by Dr. McLawhorn because my mother had such a successful outcome.

I had the surgery during COVID before vaccines were available. My husband was unable to be by my side due to the restrictions. He was only allowed one 30 minute visit post-op. Dr. McLawhorn was amazing in every way, including the fact that he performed the surgery on a Friday, visited me on Friday night, and returned to see me early on Saturday morning. It was very comforting to have those visits and I believe he went above and beyond to do it.

After our surgeries, my mother of advanced age was soon able to continue her walking regime of about two miles a day, and I was quickly able to return to my beloved yoga practice, dancing, walking and fitness classes.

At my urging, several of my friends have had hip replacements done at HSS by Dr. McLawhorn, all with excellent results. Since my mother, my friends and I all live in Princeton, New Jersey, it is a bit of a hike to have surgery at HSS, but we all strongly feel it's well worth it.
