I am Back in the Game again thanks to Dr. Danyal Nawabi. I developed excruciating hip pain in late October 2022 and treated with two doctors before I saw Dr. Nawabi. Both surgeons told me that my only recourse was hip replacement surgery because, at age 51, I was “too old” for arthroscopic hip surgery. Both surgeons also told me that I should wait as long as possible to do it because I was still considered young for hip replacement. I was desperate and growing hopeless as the pain controlled my life.

Enter Dr. Nawabi, an innovator and artist. Dr. Nawabi boldly assured me that he could, in fact, perform arthroscopic surgery to repair my hip impingement, labral tear, and degenerative arthritis condition. I knew instantly that I was in the hands of an elite world class surgeon and I felt hope again.

On April 18, 2023, Dr. Nawabi successfully performed the surgery. Astonishingly, just two short months after the surgery I was feeling so great that I was able to fly with my husband from NY to FL and stand on my feet for three straight hours to cheer on my Las Vegas Golden Knights in Game 4 of the 2023 Stanley Cup Finals. Four months post-op I was golfing pain-free again, and after six months of hard core PT and monitoring by Dr. Nawabi, I was cleared to return to serious running again.
