The best surgeon — Dr. McLawhorn - gave back my mobility and therefore, my life! Just prior to COVID, I injured my hip – a labral tear. I then overstretched and did some real damage. I sat through much of the pandemic waiting to get treatment. I hated the idea of surgery for all the common reasons others have stated. Dr. McLawhorn evaluated my hip and performed a total hip replacement. Dr. McLawhorn’s super skillful hand and technique are flawless. He is precise in preparation, implementation, and follow up. His team (Elissa Solomon,PA; Molly Morris) and his office team are superlative on all fronts – always available and helpful. By far the best MD office experience I’ve had!

At age 66, I was walking within 2 hours post-op, and once I started walking I didn’t stop! After 5 weeks I was walking in excess of 3 miles/day. Presently I walk 5 miles/day and cycle 25 miles/week. I have to say, this surgery was easy! All my dread was a colossal waste of time and otherwise good health. I encourage anyone in need of a replacement not to hesitate and to reclaim their active lifestyle. Physically, I feel like a teenager again — super mobile, agile and fast — and I’m incredibly grateful!
