For several years prior to October 2021 my right hip had significant pain limiting my ability to walk, golf, boat, and ski. I had several opinions regarding physical therapy, cortisone shots or surgery. After my second cortisone shot I saw Dr. McLawhorn who recommended hip replacement surgery. I scheduled the procedure for Oct 12, 2021 at HSS Orthopedics with Stamford Health. I have to say that from start to finish the experience was first-class. I worked in healthcare for 43 years at some of the most renowned hospitals in this country but none of them could have matched the care and outcome I had at HSS. Post-surgery I followed the instructions to walk and walk every day. Within 4-6 weeks I was walking 2-3 miles and biking 15-20 miles after 8 weeks. I began playing golf again after 3 months and resumed boating the next summer. I also started playing pickleball and continue to this day. I have recommended Dr. McLawhorn and HSS to many friends. Great job, all - I give you 5 stars.
