My story begins with my son, who had excellent results from his shoulder surgery several years ago at HSS. I selected Dr. Michael Ast for an orthopedic consult for left hip replacement surgery. His staff were pleasant, helpful, and courteous. Dr. Ast was the epitome of professionalism. He was respectful, friendly, and listened intently to my concerns regarding my condition. My contact with all other staff at the hospital from the doorman to ancillary personnel showed the same consideration. As a result, my confidence in Dr. Ast to provide an excellent result was never in question. My hip surgery and follow up visit went extremely well. The entire experience was exemplary.
