I started having a severe pain in my right hip in late 2018. I went to chiropractic for a year, but my condition was not getting better and had to use a cane for my walking.

My colleagues recommended to see an orthopedic surgeon at HSS. HSS introduced me to Dr. McLawhorn, who I met in January 2020. He scheduled total hip replacement surgery on February 14, 2020.

The surgery was successful as I started to walk without any pain the same afternoon and was released next morning. I took over-the-counter pain medications for 1 week, walked every day with a PT and my husband, and went back to work after 4 weeks.

I am currently walking and jogging 2.5 miles almost every day, swim 30 mins once a week and play golf a few times per month in the summer. I was able to lose 20 pounds after the surgery until now (2/14/23)

The pictures show my active life, including a trip to Europe in July 2022. I highly recommend Dr. McLawhorn for hip surgery. He gave me my life back and I am forever thankful to him and everyone at HSS.

May 19, 2025:

I received the best Valentine's Day gift on 2/14/2000. Thank you to Dr. McLawhorn for the new hip, I recovered very quickly. I went back to work after 1 month. I am going to the gym 3 times a week, jogging for 2 miles per visit, and swimming 45 minutes per week now.
