For several years I had suffered from bad right hip pain and even worse knee pain. I met with Dr. Gausden fully expecting that both joints needed to be replaced. Imagine my surprise when Dr. Gausden took one look at my x-rays and told me that my knee was perfectly fine - I was suffering from radiating pain from my bad hip. Within a day of my anterior hip replacement I discovered she was right - 90 percent of my knee pain had vanished.

Dr. Gausden is not only a very accomplished surgeon, she is a genuinely nice person and caring physician. She never rushed me during our appointments, answered all my questions, and her surgical skills are fantastic. Within 2 weeks of my surgery I was walking city blocks without a walker or a cane. Within 6 weeks I was walking 45 blocks a day, advancing in PT, and experienced my greatest triumph - climbing the stairs at the Lexington/59th Street station. I’m looking forward to returning to the gym and the slopes this coming winter.

I must also give kudos to Dr. Gausden’s team - the care and support they provided was flawless and seamless. From setting up in-home and out-patient PT, to promptly returning my calls and handling any issues that arose, they were great.
