After living for 3 years with varying amounts of pain and difficulty doing activities, I was told I needed a total hip replacement as my hip was bone on bone. Several months ago a family member had a hip replacement at HSS and her surgeon was Dr. McLawhorn. She had nothing but praise for Dr. McLawhorn and the hospital. So I made a consultation appointment with him. Upon meeting, I found Dr. McLawhorn to be professional yet warm and caring and willing to explain the procedure and answer all my concerns. It has been 6 weeks since my surgery and I am free from pain, and back to walking and daily activities.

I cannot express my gratitude to Dr, McLawhorn who is a brilliant and competent surgeon. Kudos to his hardworking and attentive staff and many thanks to all the HSS medical staff for the excellent care and comfort I received while I was there.
