Matt Ackerly

My son Matthew was diagnosed with Osteochondritis Dissecans of the elbow at 10 years old. After almost two years of limited baseball activities it was determined by Dr. Fabricant at HSS that the condition was only getting worse and surgery was inevitable. At first as parents we were very hesitant to have our 11-year-old go through surgery. After having the procedure explained to us, seeing our son in pain and the fact that he wouldn't be able to participate fully in the sport he loved, we decided to put our trust in Dr. Fabricant. After six months of rehab my son has been cleared to start playing sports again. He feels great!! We couldn't be happier. HSS is a top notch organization and I would recommend to anyone. The attention to detail, the level of professionalism, the quick responses whenever we had questions and the ability of Dr. Fabricant to make my son feel so comfortable during this whole ordeal was outstanding. As parents we could see how much he enjoys what he does and how much he truly cares about his patients.
