I can not say enough about the service I received from HSS, and from the office of Dr. Danyal Nawabi. I was referred to HSS after undergoing an unsuccessful surgery (from a different Orthopaedic group) for a Hip Labral Tear. Following that initial surgery, I had developed a 3 cm heterotopic bone ossicle in my hip joint, along with a re-tear of the labrum. I was feeling much worse than I did prior to surgery.

As a former college basketball and football player who exercised daily, I was dejected about my current health. When I met with Dr. Nawabi he assured me he could fix the tear, remove the bone, and shave down the femoral head to get me back to full activity. He walked me through the entire procedure and recovery and answered all questions I had.

The staff at HSS was incredibly professional and efficient in ensuring my procedure went as planned. My home regiment was detailed and Dr. Nawabi took the time to chat with me over the phone throughout my recovery. I could feel the difference the next day. I was walking after 4-5 weeks and got back to jogging in just a few short months.

After 6 months, I am close to 100%. I exercise daily, run, golf, ski, and play basketball. My case was a difficult one, and I'm still amazed by the outcome of the procedure Dr. Nawabi performed. Thank you HSS and the office of Dr. Nawabi for getting me back in the game, and giving me back my quality of life!
