I was referred to Dr. Alexiades at HSS for a total hip replacement in May of 2013. At that time I was already severely impaired. Simple walking was very painful & difficult. Upon examination Dr. Alexiades recommended a total hip replacement, and predicted that I would most likely have a very good outcome given my age & overall good health. I accepted his recommendation and had the surgery to replace my hip on Tuesday October 8th, 2013!

The results were far better than I ever imagined. Not only did I have a full and speedy recovery, but I have been doing amazingly well since then. The surgery was on a Tuesday. I started work again part time that Thursday, and was full time back to work on Sunday. I didn't need the cane anymore by the following Friday! In truth HSS and Dr. Alexiades gave me more than a new hip. You allowed me to have a new lease on life! Thanks to my health being so much better, my wife & I were able to fulfill a lifelong dream and emigrate to Israel where we now live just outside Jerusalem. Since the surgery I have danced "VIGOROUSLY" at the weddings of three of my children. If you need a "poster-boy" to affirm the profound impact this surgery can have on a life then that would be me!
