Every time someone says to me, "I'm thinking about having hip replacement surgery, but my doctor told me to wait as long as possible," I ask, "What are you waiting for?"

I waited -- was in such awful pain for years, yet doctor after doctor said, "just lose some weight, you'll feel better." But when you can't exercise, how can you lose weight? I found it difficult to walk even medium let alone long distances. I had trouble bending over to pick things up. As someone who has been an athlete all my life, this was extremely depressing. I felt like no one was listening to me.

So I went to Dr. Rozbruch, who always listens. The first thing he did was give me an anti-inflammatory. By that weekend, I was walking all over DC. I knew I needed more, but at least I immediately saw that there was hope for me.

A few months later, Dr. Rozbruch replaced my hip, and it's literally changed my life. By the time I went in, I had zero cartilage left. I was in pain because the bones were rubbing against each other; I had bone spurs all along the hip. He took care of all of it. When I returned to work after the surgery, my staff looked at me and said, "You look different." I was carrying myself differently, even had a different look on my face. Amazing what not being in pain 24/7 does for you!

By the way, Dr. Rozbruch is the BEST. As talented and renowned as he is, he deserves to be a real egomaniac -- yet he is not. He is the most modest, supportive physician I have ever gone to. He really should give seminars to other MDs on working effectively and respectfully with patients!

Today, I am overjoyed to be able to walk, go to the gym, do yoga -- and am equally as delighted to be able to simply bend over and pick things up without having to ask for help. Dr. Rozbruch literally gave me back my life.
