As a lifetime athlete who suffered with chronic hip pain, I was stunned to realize in my early 30's I would require bilateral hip replacements by my local orthopedist. I immediately contacted HSS and was directed to Dr. Sculco. He confirmed this news. I continued to wait over 10 years, visiting with Dr. Sculco each year, to finally decide to have the replacements. Both hips were replaced at the same time. I was 43 years old and feared my athletic life was over. I believe the pictures provided will prove my fears wrong. (I am competing in a triathlon, officiating a state tournament basketball final and biking in a 150 mile 2 day ride). I celebrate my 10 year anniversary in a few months and have never regretted my decision.
