Karen Hoffman

I grew up figure skating. I dreamed of playing roller derby. Hip pain limited what I was able to do on ice skates and made roller derby unthinkable. After my surgery and physical therapy, I was back on ice skates five months later competing on a synchronized skating team, and started roller derby a year after surgery. I'm now a competitive member of Suburbia Roller Derby in Westchester, skating under the moniker Leggy Fleming. I've also become a PADI certified dive instructor and teach fitness classes with ShapeUpNYC. Without the specialized care I received from Dr. Kelly and HSS, this would never have been possible.
