Broke tibia below the ball in a fall while on travel.... Initial medical analysis indicated need for a total hip replacement. Since we were not in our home town, we went through hell trying to find a quality hospital and orthopedic surgeon late on a Friday afternoon. We finally got news from home that HSS was the place to go, and started contacting people there. Luckily, Dr. Jerabek's office responded in the affirmative and coordinated admission to HSS and acceptance into the Emergency Room at NY Presbyterian with transfer to HSS. Transfer to NY Presbyterian and HSS was on a Sunday and the hip replacement was done Monday afternoon...exceptional timing. Dr. Jerabek's skill and HSS personnel's experience, talent and attention made this traumatic experience palatable with an excellent outcome....
