Physicians and staff from Hospital for Special Surgery have been involved with the NY Mets for more than two decades as team physicians, trainers, and rehabilitation experts. HSS physicians manage the day-to-day game coverage for home games and oversee the decision-making process for player care throughout the season and off-season. One of these physicians attends every Mets home game as well as spring training, where they diagnose and treat injuries that may arise.
Terrance Sgroi provides therapeutic assistance for injuries on site at Citi Field and at HSS. When complex injuries arise, Terrance is part of the decision-making process concerning the athletes’ recovery and rehabilitation by overseeing his team of physical therapists and trainers.
