HSS physicians have led the Knicks medical staff since 2004 and provided them with access to the #1 hospital for orthopedics in the United States. The New York Knicks and Hospital for Special surgery have partnered to create the Junior Knicks Coach of the Year Award Presented by HSS. The program aims to recognize and reward tristate area (NY, NJ, CT) youth basketball coaches who demonstrate unparalleled leadership on and off the court, as well as their commitment to the community. In addition, HSS and the Knicks have also launched a Youth Basketball Leadership series focusing on educating coaches on current topics in youth sports while aiming to reduce injuries and enhance the youth player experience.
