The Pediatric Orthopedic Service at the Hospital for Special Surgery is seeking a Board certified or Board eligible fellowship-trained Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon to join our academic practice with nine other full-time pediatric orthopedic surgeons.

We are interested in individuals trained to take care of general pediatric orthopedic conditions, with a sub-specialty interest in one of the following areas, pediatric orthopedic trauma, skeletal dysplasia, or pediatric sports medicine. Other areas of sub-specialty interest are welcome and encouraged. This individual will be joining an established academic practice. Our program is experiencing significant growth at the main campus and our service commitments include coverage of the Hospital for Special Surgery and New York-Presbyterian Hospital. The group is increasing our presence in our regional markets throughout the tri-state area as well.

Potential candidates must be qualified to be appointed at the level of Instructor, Assistant Professor or Associate Professor and should be Board Certified or eligible to apply to the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery. Academic appointments at the Weill Medical College of Cornell University is included with this position.

This position offers a great opportunity for a surgeon to join an existing academic practice and to develop subspecialty interests within pediatric orthopedic surgery. We are looking for active, enthusiastic clinicians who have an interest in clinical research and teaching.

The HSS Pediatric Orthopedic service is the #1 ranked pediatric orthopedic program in NYC by US News and World Reports. Our program is experiencing significant growth at the main campus, and we are increasing our presence in our regional markets throughout the tri-state area.

HSS Orthopedics with Stamford Hospital seeks a Board certified, or Board eligible fellowship-trained Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon to join our team. HSS has a unique collaboration with Stamford Hospital, affording the opportunity for world-class surgical care to be provided in Connecticut. HSS orthopedic specialists see patients at several outpatient centers in Connecticut including HSS Stamford at Chelsea Piers, HSS Wilton and HSS Hamden (HSS Westport is set to open in Fall 2024). Surgeons perform surgery at Stamford Hospital on an HSS specific floor with ORs and an inpatient unit dedicated to HSS patients. Stamford Hospital is a level II trauma center. HSS The ideal candidate should be committed to providing general orthopedic care, provide orthopedic trauma call coverage and participate in academic activities with colleagues in the Pediatric Orthopedic Service based at the HSS Main Campus in NYC.

Clinical responsibilities are at Stamford Hospital and include typical hospital-based activities whereas outpatient activities take place at one of our outpatient centers in the Stamford area.

The Pediatric Nurse Practitioner is a board-certified independent practitioner who is responsible for the care, coordination, and management of the surgical and non-surgical pediatric orthopedic patient in Hospital for Special Surgery, a large academic institution located in New York City. The NP will join our group of 9 pediatric orthopedic surgeons and 7 pediatric nurse practitioners that care for patients across the spectrum of orthopedic disorders and will have a special interest in complex neuromuscular disease. The NP will collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop individualized plans of care for patients with diverse ethnic backgrounds and socioeconomic needs in the outpatient setting. The NP will have prescriptive privileges for both medicinal and therapeutic age-related modalities. The NP specializing in pediatrics will serve as a resource, mentor and educator for the pediatric patient, their family and other healthcare members. The NP will participate in research activities and quality improvement initiatives conducted in collaboration with other pediatric healthcare team members. The orientation period will include a structured training schedule with a mentored experience in the clinical setting, didactic learning, and guided self-study.
