About Dr. Soo Hoo
Dr. Jennifer Soo Hoo is a physiatrist at Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) who is dual board-certified in Sports Medicine and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. She serves as an Associate Professor of Clinical Rehabilitation Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College and is a U.S. Soccer Network Physician, traveling with both the U.S. Soccer Under-20 Women's National Team and the U.S. Women's CP Soccer Team.
Dr. Soo Hoo specializes in the evaluation and treatment of acute and chronic sports injuries, helping patients reduce pain, restore function, and return safely to the activities they enjoy. Dr. Soo Hoo has particular expertise in the management of tendon and joint disorders. She is highly skilled in evidence-based, minimally invasive treatments, including platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections, extracorporeal shockwave therapy (ESWT), ultrasound-guided injections, and ultrasound tenotomies. Dr. Soo Hoo is certified by the International Society for Medical Shockwave Treatment (ISMST) in medical shockwave therapy.
Passionate about improving healthcare delivery, she focuses on optimizing clinical workflows, enhancing operational processes, and developing innovative solutions that expand patient access to care. She is an integral member of the HSS OrthoNow program, where she serves as a supervising physician and collaborates on initiatives designed to improve timely access to musculoskeletal care and operational efficiency.
Prior to joining HSS, Dr. Soo Hoo served as Medical Director of Adult Sports Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine and as Sports Medicine Fellowship Director at NewYork-Presbyterian. Recognized for her expertise in sports medicine, regenerative treatments, and physician education, she is a frequent lecturer and educator at national courses, where she teaches physicians the latest advances in regenerative medicine and nonoperative musculoskeletal care.
