Dr. Barsoum is a board certified specialist in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R). She completed residency at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School/Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation, where she served as academic chief resident and was awarded the Resident Teacher of the Year Award and the Areti Award (awarded to the resident who demonstrates a consistent willingness to go above and beyond for the good of their co-residents). She completed subspecialty fellowship training in Spine and Sports Medicine at Hospital for Special Surgery.
Dr. Barsoum's goal is to help her patients return to and optimally perform at their chosen activities while promoting a healthy and active lifestyle. She treats patients with spine (neck, mid back, low back, and buttock) pain as well as musculoskeletal issues (shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee, ankle/foot). She utilizes conservative measures as well as ultrasound- and fluoroscopically guided interventions. Her overall goals for her patients are to maximize function while minimizing pain.
