What Are the Best Sneakers for Kids?

New York Magazine’s The Strategist featured HSS pediatric orthopedic surgeon Shevaun Mackie Doyle, MD, in an article about the best types of sneakers for children.

For kids ages four and under, Dr. Doyle said that "the best shoes for a growing child stimulate being barefoot."

Additionally, she explained that cleats are beneficial for children playing sports on turf fields.

"There’s less chance of twisting at the knee. It’s worth the investment of getting turf cleats in addition to regular cleats depending on what surface your kid will be playing on," Dr. Doyle noted.
