Younger knee replacement patients have more complications

Reuters reports on a study presented at the annual AAOS conference by Mark P. Figgie, MD, chief of the Surgical Arthritis Service at HSS.

The findings showed that younger patients may have higher complication rates for total knee replacements.

"The number of knee replacements we are doing in younger and younger patients keeps increasing every year and we need to let these patients know that their failure rate is potentially higher," explains Dr. Figgie.
